Project/restyling for Lunetta hotel in Rome

(with Renova htl office)

La struttura si trova immersa in pieno centro storico, al lato di Sant’Andrea della Valle, mantenendo comunque la giusta distanza dal traffico cittadino. Il progetto di ristrutturazione ha reso possibile il massimo sfruttamento della luminosità possibile, considerando l’insolita conformazione dell’edificio. Lo stile degli interni con il suo classico/moderno e il sobrio lusso ha cercato, dove possibile, di rispettare e mettere in risalto le preesistenze (travi in legno, terrazzi e murature). The building is located in the center of the city, close to Sant’Andrea della Valle, even though maintaining the right distance from the urban traffic. The renovation project uses maximum luminosity possible, considering the particular shape of the building. The classic/modern interior design and the sober luxury have tried to respect and value the preexitences, like wood beams, terraces and old walls.

Data la conformazione del edificio si è reso necessario una compartimentazione in lunghezza e in settori funzionali. L’ingresso secondario (sinistra) permette l’accesso all’area riservata al personale, il corpo centrale è destinato ai connettivi verticali con i vari piani e una luminosa “sala” con lucernari e ascensore in cristallo. Dall’ingresso principale (destra) si accede direttamente alla reception e alla sala colazioni, oltre che ad un bar/caffè fruibile non solo dagli ospiti dell’hotel. Considering the shape of the building it was necessary to divide it lengthwise and diversify the functions. The secondary entrance (left) is the one for the staff. The central part of the “body” includes vertical conexions between different floors and a bright room with skylights and a crystal lift. It is possible to get to the reception directly from the main entrance of the hotel (right), also to the breakfast room and to a cafebar available for hotel’s customers and particulars.

Lo sviluppo verticale è discontinuo, presenta vari livelli e patii interni, il che rende la struttura singolare e dinamica. I piani alti sono stati sfruttati per creare situazioni di maggior confort e lusso. I piani interrati sono stati adibiti a centro benessere rispettando al massimo con adeguato restauro i resti visibili del teatro di pompeo. The vertical development of the volume is not homogeneous, there are different levels and inner patios: this makes the structure singular and dynamic. The upper floor has been used to create more luxurious and comfortable spaces. The underground levels include a SPA zone that respects completely the visible ruins of Pompeo Theater due to an accurate restauration.

I resti del Teatro di Pompeo sono per lo più visibili al livello -2, funzione principale del quale è proprio la visibilità delle antiche mura. Questa parte del edificio presenta due tipi di solaio che separano il livello -2 dal livello -1 della SPA. L’obiettivo è stato quello di rispettare al massimo l’antico teatro scoperto dagli scavi e metterne in evidenza la bellezza. Il pavimento in cristallo è stato realizzato per mettere in risalto una delle porte visibili del Teatro di Pompeo. The Pompeo Theater ruins are mostly visible by the level -2, and this is its main function. This part of the hotel has two different kind of floor that divide level -2 and level -1 (SPA). The final purpose was to respect at most the visible preexitence of the theater and value its beauty. The crystal floor has been realized to show one of the old theater doors the best possible

Il pavimento sospeso ha principalmente lo scopo di non intaccare lateralmente l’opus della muratura romana.Tra i resti del teatro si nota prevalentemente un esteso opus reticolatum visibile già dal livello -1 (e completamente al -2). Altro elemento predominante è una porta longitudinale dell’antico Teatro di Pompeo situata sempre al livello -2. The main purpose of the hanging floor is to respect the roman opus of the lateral walls: among ruins the prevalent object is a large opus reticolatum already visible at -1 level (and completely by -2 level). The other predominant element is a longitudinal door of the ancient Theater of Pompeo located at -2 level.
